I think the first post of a blog is always the hardest. It is just so awkward. I mean, do I introduce myself or do I trust that if you wanted to know about me, you would read the about page? Do I explain why I started this blog or in a few weeks when I post something that falls outside of the stated intention will the statement of the premise itself become irrelevant (or dishonest)? Do I try to come up with something really deep and philosophical so that you will be intrigued and willing to return? Do I write something really memorable so should anyone want to pick this up from the beginning they will be blown away and askt themselves why they hadn’t found it earlier? Do I try to give a taste of the spectrum of my personality or do I try and remain a bit of a mystery that I can reveal over time? Does it ultimately matter because there’s no guarantee anyone will ever read it? I mean there’s so many blogs.. why would you ever choose to read this one?
I guess all I can really hope for this first time is no typos. You can forgive “first post jitters,” and you certainly don’t expect me to encapsulate my entire personality, my beliefs, and my opinions in a post that is short enough to look inviting. Yet, this is a medium that is carried primarily by words. Sure, there can be pictures, audio, video, etc., but if I can’t write well, why would you come back to read what I wrote so poorly?
So, in a grammatically sound manner, I invite you to join me. Over time, I think you will come to see that I love God, my girlfriend, music, art, and questions. Over time, I think you will come to see that communication is my passion. Over time, I think you will come to see that I like to ponder the message of the Bible, and hopefully you will see the written musings as starting points for discussion. As it says in my bio, I love God, His Son, His Book, art (especially music), communication, and my girlfriend- they’re what I live for. Thus…
Welcome to My Head…
